FARMERS ASSOCIATION EDUCATION FOUNDATION BACKGROUND MADA (YPPPM)

1. HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT.

MADA Farmers Association Education Foundation (YPPPM) was established on 1 June 1982 under the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) 1972 – The Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA Farmers Association Education Foundation) 1982.

YPPPM establishment was inaugurated on 7 June 1983 by the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Malaysia located in the State of Perlis Indera Kayangan and began operating in 1983.

2. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

YPPPM aims and objectives are as follows: –

a) To promote, educate, promote and assist in the educational progress of their children ‘.

b) To establish and maintain scholarships, bursaries, loans and other financial assistance to members or its members for the purpose of enabling them to continue their studies.

c) Carrying out any activity deemed fit and proper to add to quality education for their children ‘PPK MADA.

a) Small scholarships.

This activity was implemented in 1984, the scholarship is intended as an encouragement to young members who are eligible and ease the burden of the less fortunate.

Awarding scholarships based on candidates selected from children PPK MADA members based on UPSR examination.

b) Extra Classes.

This activity started in 1985 in collaboration with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the schools in the MADA area.

c) Help of Uniforms.

This activity started in 1986 aims to reduce the burden PPK MADA members who are less fortunate.

d) Contribution to the Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA).

This activity started in 1986 aims to help and give consolation to the children PPK MADA members who continued their studies in universities (local).

e) The Outstanding Student Award.

Giving Outstanding Student Award was instituted in 1989 in recognition of the excellence achieved by children in the PPK MADA PT3, SPM, STPM and STAM.

f) Poorest Children Education Assistance Expert.

This aid began to be awarded in 2004 with the aim to ease the burden of the poor in KDP regardless academic. Selection is determined by the Board of Directors PPK.

g) Intensive Course Scholarship Holders Small YPPPM.

This course is given to the Minor Scholarship will YPPPM examination of levels 3 and 5.

h) Motivation Course exam.

This course is given to children PPK MADA members who will sit for the UPSR.

II.PLANNING FUTURE ACTIVITIES.

a) Intensive Course Poorest Children Member.

The course is planned to be held to the children of the poorest in the MADA area. YPPPM hope this course will benefit the children of the poorest members. It can also relieve members who are less fortunate.

b) Language Class.

Classes have been held since 2008 with funding from the State Government Kedah. The classes take place until the funds provided are used up.

c) Study Tour.

Will be held and participants will be selected from YPPPM Minor Scholarship holder, this visit aims to relieve stress of students who will sit for the examination.

III. HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED.

1. THE YEAR 2015.

a) In cooperation with the Youth Job Fair JobsMalaysia.

Reserves held carnival is on August 8, 2015 (Saturday) at the Golden Jubilee Park, Suka Menanti, Alor Setar from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Carnival is intended to provide an opportunity for children of members and non-members PPK MADA found a job that suits them and brief career of JobsMalaysia skills training and briefings from relevant agencies.

b) Parent Excellence Seminar.

The proposed seminar was held on August 15, 2015 (Saturday) and August 29, 2015 (Saturday), it aims to provide motivation and encouragement to parents to care about their children’s education.

2. THE YEAR 2016.

a) Career Seminar Lepasan SPM.

The seminar was held on March 20, 2016 (Sunday) with the aim to provide guidance to SPM leavers about their direction after the SPM results.

b) Post-PT3 Roadmap Seminar

The seminar was held on July 30, 2016 (Saturday), it aims to provide guidance and direction for selecting current subjects in Form 4 for the preparation of SPM.

c) SPM Excellence Seminar.

The seminar was held on October 1, 2016 (Saturday), this seminar was held to help students who are in Grade 5 to give guidance and motivation and preparation to excel in SPM.

d) Joint Program With SL1M (1Malaysia Training Scheme-EPU).

The program was held with the cooperation of the parties SL1M (1Malaysia Training Scheme – EPU) and MADA during HPPNK Kedah located in the Golden Jubilee Park on 27 and 28 May 2016.

On that day, the SL1M called GLCs and private sectors that need workers and centers of learning (skills training) who want to take students. Employment opportunities and education is open to job seekers around Alor Setar and nearby.

3. THE YEAR 2017.

a) Parent Student Excellence Seminar 2017 (Series 1).

This seminar will be held on February 25, 2017 (Saturday) at SMK. Jerlun, Ayer Hitam, Kedah aims to motivate and guide parents of Form 3 and 5 students in nearby MADA area who will sit for PT3 and SPM exams for their children’s excellence.

b) Intensive Scholarship Course for Small Scholars Phase I Form 3 & 5.

This course was held on 20-22 March 2017 at the MADA Training Complex, Alor Serdang, Kota Sarang Semut, Kedah.

This course was held from 11 to 13 May 2017 at MADA Training Complex, Alor Serdang, Kota Sarang Semut, Kedah.

f) Seminar of Excellence & Motivation of Parents (Series 2)

The seminar was held on July 15, 2017 (Saturday) at SMK Ayer Hitam, Ayer Hitam, Kedah aimed to motivate and guide parents of Form 3 and 5 students in nearby MADA area which will sit for PT3 and SPM exams for the excellence of their children.

g) Intensive Small Course Scholarship Holder Phase III Form 3 & 5

This course was held from 27-29 August 2017 at MADA Training Complex, Alor Serdang, Kota Sarang Semut, Kedah.

h) SPM Achievement Program

SPM Achievement Program organized by YPPPM & Sekolah Tunku Abd Rahman (STAR) Mergong was held on 3-4 October 2017 at Dewan Syed Nahar, HQ MADA.

1. Intensive Course for Small Scholarship Holders of YPPPM Phase I, Form 3 & 5
Date: March 20-22, 2018 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Venue: MADA Training Complex, Alor Serdang, Kota Sarang Semut, Alor Setar.

2. Motivation & Learning Skills Program To The Heir and Students 2018
Date: March 24, 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 8.00 am to 1.00 pm
Venue: Dewan Syed Nahar, MADA Headquarters, Ampang Jajar, Alor Setar.
Purpose: Provide motivation and correct learning to students who will sit for PT3 and SPM examinations in 2018 within the MADA area.
Total Attendance: 400 people consisting of parents and Form 3 and 5 students
Speakers: Comprised of former YPPPM Scholarship Holders and Excellent Students (former children of YPPPM Small Scholarship Holders)

IV. BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED

YPPPM has collaborated with Silicon Biotech Sdn. Bhd. for the project quarry sand in Kg. Empa, Mukim Derang, Pokok Sena district. This project was initiated in December 2015. The results of the project will cover the expenses YPPPM activities undertaken.

V. FUTURE PLANNING PROGRAM.

a) Skills Training Course.

Training courses will be held in collaboration with certified skills centers, the program is geared to the target groups, especially children and youth MADA farmers were left behind in education remain unemployed to be employed by companies that are qualified

– Bakery

– Kulinari

– Office Management.

b) Bussines.

Activities involving viable business projects to increase revenue YPPPM and any activity deemed fit and proper to provide for additional revenues.

i) Application of MADA to handle Young Resort.
ii) Applicants ‘Bill Board’ of MADA to run YPPPM.
iii) Application of MADA to carry out cleaning work MADA headquarters (the outside).

c) Human Capital Development.

i) Youth Job Fair.
Carnival is intended to provide an opportunity for children of members and non-members PPK MADA got a job appropriate to their career and briefing of agencies involved in training and briefing from relevant agencies.

ii) Parent Excellence Seminar.

This seminar is intended to provide motivation and encouragement to parents to care about the education of their children.

iii) Seminar Career After SPM.

This seminar is intended to provide guidance to SPM leavers about their direction after the examination results.

iv) Post-PT3 Roadmap Seminar.

This seminar is intended to provide guidance to leavers PT3 to select the current trend in Form 4 next to SPM.

IX. CONCLUSION

YPPPM will provide the main focus is to improve the standard of education the children of farmers in the MADA area in line with the goals and objectives of the YPPPM.
