Yang Berhormat Ahmad Tarmizi Bin Sulaiman, Chairman of MADA today held a working visit to Pedu Dam, Padang Terap, Kedah.

The ceremony began with a briefing session presented by Mr. Ahmad Sukri Bin Saad, acting Director of the Dam and Water Resources Management Division and Tuan Haji Syed Zainuddin B. Syed Zain, Deputy General Manager (Technical). Also present from the MADA Headquarters were Encik Zulkifli Bin Romli, Director of the Management Services Division as well as officials from the Dam & Water Resources Division.

The MADA chairman was then taken inside the Pedu dam to see and be briefed on the rehabilitation systems and operating structures of the dam. Next, he was taken on a boat to explore the lake at the Pedu dam to see the size of the water reservoir at the dam.

The Chairman of MADA in his visit expressed pride because MADA plays an important role in managing water resources from dams for domestic needs as well as to irrigate the entire Muda Area.

He added that with a good water management system and benefits that can be received by the entire community in Kedah, Perlis, Penang and Langkawi, he also hoped that the community could together protect the water resource catchment area so as not to be encroached by illegal activities such as logging and so on.

Before the end of the working visit, the Chairman of MADA had a friendly chat with the staff of the operator who manages the dam. The working visit of the MADA Chairman to the Pedu Dam was also visited by the Honorable Ustaz Mohd Azam Abdul Samat, Sungai Limau ADUN and the Honorable Tuan Haji Radzi Md Amin, Pedu ADUN.
