The Role Of The Middlemen Should Be Eliminated
Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries will eliminate the need for middlemen that oppress farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen on a large scale, regardless of race.
Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Dato` Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob said the fight against the middlemen not only focuses on any race otherwise enforced to help increase the income of farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen.
He added that the role of middlemen sometimes need but do not need to oppress the farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen and provide great benefits to their own.
In addition, he also wanted to highlight the concept of direct sales from the farm to the purchaser or user that should increase the income of farmers, breeders and fishermen if the role of middlemen does not exist.
He was speaking at a press conference after attending the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based with Pemimpin Peladang, Penternak and Nelayan in Dewan D, MAEPS, Serdang on 5 October 2013.
