Today, Yang Berhormat Ahmad Tarmizi bin Sulaiman, Chairman of MADA together with Tuan Haji Kamarudin Dahuli, General Manager of MADA paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia at the Headquarters of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
The Irrigation and Drainage Department, formerly known as the Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPT) was established in 1932 and was given the responsibility to provide infrastructure for paddy cultivation. Currently, the main tasks of DID include water resources management and hydrology, river basin management, flood management, coastal zones and environmentally friendly drainage..
MADA’s visit to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia is aimed at discussing the improvement of the irrigation management system in the Muda Area for paddy cultivation activities in order to safeguard the welfare of farmers to increase their income as well as the country. Also present were Deputy General Manager (Agriculture) Encik Zulkifli Romli, Deputy General Manager (Technical) Encik Nik Kun bin Nik Man and Head of Corporate Communications Branch (MADA) Encik Mohd Hafizi Zakaria.
