In the afternoon, Yang Berhormat Ahmad Tarmizi bin Sulaiman, Chairman of MADA together with Tuan Haji Kamarudin Dahuli, General Manager of MADA had the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on Yang Berhormat Dato ‘Seri Idris Jusoh, Chairman of FELDA at the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA).

FELDA was established on 1 July 1956 under the Land Development Ordinance 1956 (Act 474) is intended for land development and resettlement (under GSA -Group Settlement Areas – Act 530) with the objective of eradicating poverty through the cultivation of palm oil and rubber.

Among the functions of FELDA is to implement land development projects and socio-economic agricultural, industrial and commercial activities. In 1990, FELDA stopped recruiting new settlers after 112,635 were placed in 317 schemes nationwide. The government has given confidence to FELDA to stand on its own finances and become a statutory body that can generate its own income to support various developments through its various businesses. In an effort to generate income, FELDA has launched several private corporate entities mainly to ensure a complete value chain of its core activities. Among the largest are FELDA Holdings Sendirian Berhad, FELDA Plantations Sendirian Berhad and FELDA Global Ventures (FGV).

To date, FELDA continues to play a key role by providing several adequate and modern facilities in the FELDA plan, ensuring that the next generation of settlers get a good and appropriate educational foundation including higher education to the appropriate to improve their socio -economic status and quality of life.


MADA is also pleased with the sharing of experiences presented by Yang Berhormat Dato ‘Seri Idris Jusoh, Chairman of FELDA. Also present were Deputy General Manager (Agriculture) Encik Zulkifli Romli, Deputy General Manager (Technical) Encik Nik Kun bin Nik Man and Head of Corporate Communications Branch (MADA) Encik Mohd Hafizi Zakaria.
