MADA Coordinator of the Northern Peninsula Malaysia Flood Relief


image_galleryMuda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) has been appointed as the main coordinator for flood relief in northern Peninsular Malaysia, especially in the states of Kedah and Perlis.

MADA Chairman, Dato Othman bin Haji Aziz said that all departments and agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries in the state of Kedah and Perlis will provide food such as fresh fish, vegetables, fruit,chicken, meat, eggs and rice adequately to be delivered to flood victims for the states involved.

He added that, in addition to focusing on delivering aid to the states of Kedah and Perlis, MADA and the departments and agencies under the Ministry in Kedah and Perlis also donating food to the east coast states where 350kg of chicken had beendistributed to Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang last week.

image_gallery (1)He said that food supplies will be distribute to the next three states in the near future.

He said this in a press conference after chairing a meeting of the Flood Relief Supplies Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries in the State of Kedah and Perlis on 28 December 2014 in Dewan Syed Nahar, MADA Headquarters.

The meeting was held to discuss the status of the floods in Kedah and Perlis as well as the preparation of the necessary assistance to deal with floods.

In addition, the meeting also get the latest reports on the current status of flood events through presentations made by Kedah and Perlis National Security Council.
